Every month we ask professionals to give us advice on how to feel better, more beautiful and more confident.
Tips and tricks to make an interview or a public speech go well
For September we asked Flavie, actress and trainer in public speaking to give us some tips.
1- Preparing the content:
The more you know the content of your speech, the more comfortable you will be while giving it.
Tip: reread your text 20 times the night before before going to bed
2- Preparing your outfit:
Wear your outfit at least once before the interview to be sure that you will not be embarrassed (blouse too transparent, pants too tight, material that makes you sweat, shoes that squeak, etc.)
3- Warming up the voice:
You should know that the voice takes 2 hours after waking up to be operational, so get up 1 hour earlier!
Tip: Sing in the shower or in your car. Take difficult songs with a lot of variation between high and low (Opéra, Céline Dion, Maria Carey, Balavoine)
4- Breathing:
This is the crux of the matter! The more you breathe, the more you relax and the more you oxygenate your brain.
Tip: inhale deeply through your nose, expand your stomach while trying not to raise your shoulders, then blow all your air out through your mouth. Repeat 3 times.
5- During the interview or speech:
Be careful not to confuse dynamism with haste!
Tip: Pause at every comma and breathe at each point.
See you soon for new advice and I say good luck!
